This is to advise the public of the road closures during the Fannie May Help The Homeless Walk.  The walk will form south of the National Mall on 7^th Street, SW. Street closures will begin Saturday, November 19, 2011, from approximately 8:30 am, until approximately 11:00 am, the streets surrounding the Fannie Mae Help The Homeless Walk will be closed as stipulated below:

• Westbound Independence Avenue, SW from 7^th Street, SW to 15^th Street, SW   
• Southbound 15th Street, SW to East Basin Drive, SW                          
• Southwest on East Basin Drive, SW  to Ohio Drive, SW
• Northwest on Ohio Drive, SW to West Basin Drive, SW
• North on West Basin Drive, SW to Independence Avenue, SW
• East on Independence Avenue, SW to 14^th Street, SW
• North on 14^th Street, SW to the National Mall, SW

Due to the extremely heavy pedestrian crowds associated with these events, motorists are encouraged to exercise extreme caution when traveling in these areas.  In addition, those wishing to attend these events are encouraged to use public transportation.
