This is to advise the news media that the following arrangements have been made for the funeral of Officer James McBride:

There will be no funeral procession.  Officer McBride will be cremated and his remains interned in the District. 

Family Statement

The following is a statement from Officer McBride's family:

We would like to thank the District of Columbia and its police department for the assistance and support they have provided our family. We also would like to thank and publicly acknowledge the District police officer at the scene, the first responders and the medical staff of the Washington Hospital Center who did everything humanly possible to save our son. Though their efforts did not change the tragic outcome, their professionalism and dedication to service will help us accept this tragic loss of life.

Note: The family has requested that no news media cameras be in the church.
