Commander Diane Groomes, Inspector Patrick Burke and personnel assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department's Third District Substation, in association with the owner of the Capitol City Pavilion, the Columbia Heights Association, the National Urban League and others, are sponsoring Youth Fest 2005: A Day of Peace, a non-profit community outreach event. 

Local music groups such as UCB Band, The Naughty Boys, NGB Band, and Tru Mission will provide entertainment. There will also be a fashion show.

Members of the news media are invited to attend.  The MPDC also requests the media's assistance in publicizing this event before September 10.
