On Sunday, October 29, 2006, at approximately 2:25 am, Metropolitan Police and DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the 1600 block of 16th Street, SE, to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered a male suffering from a gunshot wound to the head lying in front of a building in the 1600 block of 16th Street, SE. Medical personnel could find no life signs. The body was transported by morgue wagon to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia.
The victim has been identified as 41-year-old Howard Randolph Wilson Jr., of the 500 block of Gibbon Street in Alexandria, Virginia.
The case is currently under investigation by detectives assigned to the department’s Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone who has information regarding this case is asked to call (202) 727-9099.
The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
