The
Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in identifying
and locating a suspect wanted in connection with the January 9, 2000 double
homicide committed in the 2400 block of 18th Street, NW. The victims,
28-year-old Carlos David Smith and 28-year-old Ronald William
Taylor, were shot to death following an argument at about 3:20 a.m.
A third victim, who was an innocent bystander, also received a non-life-threatening
gunshot wound as the result of this shooting incident.
The suspect in this case is described as a medium complexioned black male
in early 20s, 5'9" in height, weighing approximately 160 - 170 pounds.
He was wearing a waist length black leather jacket, jeans, boots, and
a blue knit cap with a white design on the sides and three strings hanging
from the top. The cap had earflaps with a string hanging from each earflap.
He should be considered armed and dangerous.

Department is currently offering a TEN THOUSAND-DOLLAR REWARD to
anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction
of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the
District of Columbia.
