The
Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public's assistance to identify
and locate two suspects wanted in connection with the armed robbery of
a business establishment. The offense occurred at approximately 6:00 p.m.
on Friday, September 22, 2000. The suspects robbed at gunpoint, JR Cigar,
located at 1730 L Street, NW. They obtained an undetermined amount of
money and fled the area on foot. No one was injured as a result of the
robbery.
The suspects are described as follows:
Suspect #1:
Bearded, medium complexioned black male with a round face, 30 - 35 years
of age, 6'1" - 6'2" in height, weighing approximately 200 - 215 pounds,
with a stocky, muscular build. He was wearing a floppy blue denim hat
with a full brim, a blue long-sleeve button-down shirt, and light colored
pants. He was carrying a green duffel bag and was armed with a silver
colored semi-automatic handgun.
Suspect #2:
Bearded, light to medium complexioned black male, 29 - 35 years of age,
5'6" - 5'9" in height, with a stocky build. He was wearing a short-sleeve
Polo style shirt and dark slacks. Anyone who has information about this
case or knows the identity of the suspects is asked to call the department's
