Robbery Suspects Sought

The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public's assistance to identify and locate two suspects wanted in connection with the armed robbery of a business establishment. The offense occurred at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2000. The suspects robbed at gunpoint, JR Cigar, located at 1730 L Street, NW. They obtained an undetermined amount of money and fled the area on foot. No one was injured as a result of the robbery.

The suspects are described as follows:

Suspect #1:
Bearded, medium complexioned black male with a round face, 30 - 35 years of age, 6'1" - 6'2" in height, weighing approximately 200 - 215 pounds, with a stocky, muscular build. He was wearing a floppy blue denim hat with a full brim, a blue long-sleeve button-down shirt, and light colored pants. He was carrying a green duffel bag and was armed with a silver colored semi-automatic handgun.

Suspect #2:
Bearded, light to medium complexioned black male, 29 - 35 years of age, 5'6" - 5'9" in height, with a stocky build. He was wearing a short-sleeve Polo style shirt and dark slacks. Anyone who has information about this case or knows the identity of the suspects is asked to call the department's Second District Detectives Office at 202-282-0043 or the D.C. Crime Solvers Unit at 1-800-673-2777 . All calls to the Crime Solvers Unit are confidential and a caller need not give his or her name. If the information provided by a caller to the Crime Solvers Unit leads to an arrest and indictment, the caller will be eligible for a reward of up to ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS.
