At approximately 9:16 pm, on Friday, September 13, 2002, Metropolitan Police were called to the 1200 block of 18th Street, NE, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located 34-year-old Miquel Valentine Miles, of the 500 block of 13th Street, NE, suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the body. He was taken to the Washington Hospital Center’s Medstar Unit and pronounced dead at 9:50 pm.
On Monday, November 20, 2006, this case was closed with the arrest of 27-year-old Larry Gooch, of the 1900 block M Street, NE. He was charged with First Degree Murder.
