At approximately 8:57 pm, on Saturday, January 6, 2007, Metropolitan Police were called to the 2100 block of Eye ( I ) Street, NE, for the report of sounds of gunshots.  Upon arrival, they located 17-year-old Lovell Harrison, last known address in the 4200 block of South Four Mile Run in Arlington, Virginia, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the body.  He was taken to the Howard University hospital and pronounced dead at 9:32 pm on Saturday, January 6. 

Police were also called at approximately the same time to the 1100 block of 21st Street, NE, for the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, they located a 15-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.  He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

This homicide case was closed on January 24, 2007, with the arrest of 17-year-old Gary Durant, of the 2200 block of H Street, NE. He was charged with Murder Two While Armed.
