At approximately 11:40 pm, on Saturday, January 27, 2007, police were called to the front of 866 Yuma Street, SE, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival officers located 41-year-old Kevin V. Bradshaw, of the 600 block of Atlantic Street, SE, suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the body. DC Fire Department emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, but could find no signs consistent with life. He was taken to the DC Medical Examiner’s Office and pronounced dead.
The case is under investigation by members of the department’s Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.
The department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
NOTE: During today's press conference on Yuma street, SE, it was indicated that a "Shot Spotter" did not cover the vicinity of that area. It has now been determined that the "Shot Spotter" system does cover the area in question and reviewed records of the system will be made a part of the ongoing investigation.
