Fatal Shooting on Clay Terrace, NE

On Thursday, October 26, 2000, at approximately 1:40 a.m., police responded to the 5300 block of Clay Terrace, NE for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they located a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds lying on the ground in the rear of 5375 Clay Terrace, NE.

The victim, who has been identified as 25-year-old Maurice Demetrius Rivera, of the 300 block of 54th Street, NE, was later transported by morgue wagon to the D.C. Medical Examiner's Office where he was officially pronounced dead.

The case is currently under investigation by detectives assigned to the department's Sixth District . Anyone who has information regarding this case is asked to call detectives at 202-727-4515 or the D.C. Crime Solvers Unit at 1-800-673-2777 .

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a TEN THOUSAND-DOLLAR REWARD to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
