The Metropolitan Police Department, D.C. Fire Department, Alcohol Beverage Control Division, Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs, Office of Emergency Preparedness, along with the Georgetown Business and Professional Association and Citizens Association of Georgetown, are all working together to ensure a safe, festive Halloween celebration for everyone.

The normal weekend parking restrictions in Georgetown will be in effect, along with additional restrictions. Wisconsin Avenue and M Street, NW will remain open to vehicular traffic at all times. However, no parking will be allowed from 4:00 p.m. through 4:00 a.m. on Friday, Saturday and Tuesday, on the following streets:

M Street, from 28th Street to the Key Bridge;
Wisconsin Avenue, from K to P Streets;
K Street, from 29th Street to Wisconsin Avenue;
South Street, from 31st Street to Wisconsin Avenue; and
26th Street, Pennsylvania Avenue to M Street.

NO PARKING signs will be posted on these routes.

The cordon area is 28th Street to 34th Street, from M Street on the south to P Street on the north. To this end, barricades and cones will block access to side streets. Officers will be assigned to posts at the entrance to side streets. Officers shall direct traffic as needed.

Vehicular traffic on the side streets in the cordon area will be restricted to local residents and their guests only. Anyone else desiring to enter the cordon area in an automobile shall provide the name and address of the person they wish to visit.

Vehicular traffic will be restricted on all side streets beginning at 8:00 p.m. on each night, with the exceptions noted above. No pedestrian traffic will be allowed to walk in the streets. All pedestrians shall be directed to use sidewalks and crosswalks, so as not to impede vehicular traffic and endanger themselves.
