At approximately 11:45 am, on Monday, February 19, 2007, police were called to an apartment building located at 3636 16th Street, NW, to check on the welfare of a resident. Upon entering an apartment, police located 40-year-old Ignacio Cordova, of the 16th Street address, suffering from multiple stab wounds. DC Fire Department emergency personnel responded to the scene, but found no signs consistent with life. DC Medical Examiner’s Office personnel responded to scene and pronounced him dead.
The case is under investigation by members of the department’s Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.
The department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia
