Suspects Sought in Two Armed Robberies

The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the assistance of the public in attempting to identify the suspect(s) that may be responsible for two armed robberies committed in the District of Columbia. At this time there is no conclusive evidence that the two cases are linked, however the investigation into these incidents remains ongoing.

The first case occurred on Monday, February 19, 2007, at approximately 10:45 pm. At that time an adult male was operating his cab in the 1300 block of Underwood Street, NW, when a vehicle pulled behind him and activated what appeared to be flashing emergency lights and a siren. The victim subsequently pulled over when a male subject armed with a gun exited the vehicle and robbed the victim of currency and personal possessions. The suspect in this case is described as a tall black male, age unknown, with a slender build and light complexion. He is further described as wearing a dark colored jacket, dark pants and “winter” type hood with a mask. The vehicle utilized is described as a yellow or gold colored automobile, possibly bearing Virginia tags.

The second case occurred on Monday, February 19, 2007, at approximately 11:15 pm. At that time an adult male was reportedly walking his dog in the 5100 block of 8th Street, NW, when a vehicle approached him and activated what appeared to be an air horn or siren. A male subject armed with a gun proceeded to exit the vehicle and rob the victim of currency. The suspect in this case is described as a tall black male, approximately 18 years of age, with a slender build and a dark colored ski mask. The vehicle utilized in this case is described as a light brown colored automobile possibly bearing paper tags with a tall antenna on the back.

In each of the cases the victims were unharmed.  Anyone who has information about these cases is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for any armed robbery committed in the District of Columbia.
