At approximately 3:11 am, on Sunday, January 28, 2007, police were called to an apartment building located in the 300 block of 54th Street, NE, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival officers located 23-year-old Louis Maurice Bigsby, of the 1400 block of Morse Street, NE, inside an apartment, suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the body. He was taken to the Prince George’s County Medical Center and pronounced dead.

On the afternoon of Monday, February 26, 2007, this case was closed.  The suspect is identified as 31-year-old Rudy Andrews, of the 4400 block of Hunt Place, NE.  Andrews, who was already in custody at the DC Jail for an unrelated charge, was transported by members of the Joint Fugitive Task Force to the Violent Crimes Branch where he was charged with Murder Two While Armed pursuant to a DC. Superior Court arrest warrant charging him with the murder of Louis M. Bigsby.
