Homicide in the 1700 Block of A Street, SE

At approximately 9:45 pm, on Monday, February 26, 2007, police were called to the front of 1710 A Street, SE, for the report of an assault at that location. Upon arrival officers located 51-year-old James Young, of the 1700 block of A Street, SE, suffering from apparent multiple stab wounds to the body.   The victim was transported to the Washington Hospital Center’s MedStar Unit and pronounced dead. 

This case remains under investigation by members from the department’s Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
