At approximately 2:33 this morning, Wednesday, March 7, 2007, police were called to the front of 76 O Street, NW, for the report of a man down. Upon arrival officers located a 34-year-old male suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the body and head. DC Fire Department emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, but could find no signs consistent with life. He was taken to the DC Medical Examiner’s Office and pronounced dead.
The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time pending the notification of the next of kin.
The case is under investigation by members of the department’s Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.
The department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
