At approximately 4:33 am, on Wednesday, August 9, 2006, police were called to the 4300 block of 4th Street, SE, for the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival police located 37-year-old John W. Lucas, of the 5600 block of Rollins Lane in Capitol Heights, Maryland, suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the body.  He was taken to the Prince George’s County Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries.

On Friday, September 8, 2006, Mr. John W. Lucas returned to the Prince George’s County Medical Center where he was admitted for complications from his gunshots wounds.  On Sunday, November 5, 2006, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 2:29 am.

On Friday, March 9, 2007, the above case was closed with the arrestof 27-year-old Delonta St. John, of the 600 block of Darrington Street, SE. He was charged with Murder Two while Armed.
