Homicide at 4750 Benning Road, SE

At approximately 7:30 this morning, Thursday, March 29, 2007, police were called to the rear of 4750 Benning Road, SE, for the report of an unconscious person. Upon arrival officers located the body of an adult black male, identified as 35-year-old Christopher Dobyns, of no fixed address, on the grounds behind the Fletcher-Johnson Educational Center suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the head and body. The victim was subsequently taken to the Office of the DC Medical Examiner where he was pronounced dead. 

The case is under investigation by members of the department’s Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
