At approximately 3:05 this morning, December 29, 2000, officers from the Seventh District and DCFD medical personnel responded to the 4200 block of 4th Street, SE for the report of a man down. Upon arrival, units located an unidentified male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the neck.

The victim, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported to D.C. General Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 4:10 a.m.

The Metropolitan Police Department is presently offering a TEN THOUSAND-DOLLAR REWARD to anyone who provides information, which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide, committed in the District of Columbia.
