On Thursday, April 5, 2007, at approximately 8:20 pm, police were called to an apartment building located at 159 Irvington Street, SW. Upon arrival police located 23-year-old Rodney Green, of the 4500 Edson Place, NE, in a first floor stairwell, suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the body.  DC Fire Department emergency medical personnel responded to the scene but found no signs consistent with life. He was transported to the DC Medical Examiner’s Office and pronounced dead.

The case is under investigation by members of the department’s Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at 202-727-9099.

The department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
