At approximately 12:49 this morning, Tuesday, April 24, 2007, several people were standing in front of an apartment building, at 2504 Pomeroy Road, SE, when they were reportedly approached by four armed men. It was at this time that the men began shooting; striking an 18-year-old female in the head. One of the gunmen chased a 26-year-old male into the building and shot him in the chin and side. The gunmen subsequently fled in a vehicle that was later found abandoned.
The wounded female was taken to an area hospital and admitted in critical condition. The injured male was taken to the Howard University Hospital where he was treated and released. The names of the victims are being withheld because they are considered witnesses in this case. The suspects in this case are only described as black males.
The case is under investigation by members of the department’s Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at 202/727-9099. The department currently offers a reward of up to TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.

The 18-year-old female, identified as Inesha Miller of the 2200 block of Cester Sreet, SE, was taken to the Washington Hospital Center. She was pronounced dead at 5:15 pm on Friday, April 27, 2007.
