At approximately 2:15 pm on Thursday, April 26, 2007, a lone male entered the Flamingo Restaurant located at 1119 V Street, NW. Once inside, he produced a handgun and during the course of a robbery he shot a 39-year-old male in the body. The gunman obtained a patron’s purse and an undetermined amount of cash from the register before fleeing. The injured victim was taken to an area hospital and admitted in stable condition.
The suspect in this case is described as a black male in his late twenties to early thirties, 5’7” tall, dark complexion with facial hair. He was last seen wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt.
The case is under investigation by members of the department’s Robbery Task Force. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. The department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for any robbery committed in the District of Columbia.
