Hit-and-Run Crash Kills Pedestrian on North Capitol Street

Shortly before 7:00 p.m., on Friday, December 22, police and DCFD emergency medical personnel were summoned to North Capitol and Longfellow Streets, NW for the report of a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, they located an adult female suffering from multiple injuries. She was transported to the Washington Hospital Center’s MedSTAR Unit , where she was pronounced dead. The victim has been identified as 64-year-old Annmarie Stevenson, of Longfellow Street, NE.

Members of the Metropolitan Police Department's Major Crash Investigations Unit are conducting the accident investigation and need assistance in identifying and locating the operator of the hit-and-run vehicle. At this time, police do not have a description of the striking vehicle.
