At approximately 9:40 p.m. on Saturday, December 23, Fifth District officers were called to 17th and C Streets, NE for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found the body of 16-year-old Christopher Battle, of the 1700 block of Benning Road, NE, suffering from gunshot wounds to the head and leg. He was taken to D.C. General Hospital and pronounced dead at 3:33 a.m. on Sunday, December 24.

The Metropolitan Police Department is presently offering a TEN THOUSAND-DOLLAR REWARD to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide in the District of Columbia.
