At approximately 2:20 pm on Saturday, June 2, 2007, police were called to the 5800 block of Field Place, NE, to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival officers located a 30-year-old district male, suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds. He was subsequently transported to the Howard University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The victim’s name is being withheld at this time pending notification of his next-of-kin. A 38-year-old male was also located suffering from a gunshot wound to the left leg. He was taken to an area hospital. A 29-year-old male was driven to a hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen and buttocks. The names of these victims are being withheld at this time because they are considered witnesses in this case.
The case is under investigation by members from the department’s Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.
The department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
