Two Additional Arrests in 2005 Murder Case

On Friday, June 8, 2007, a joint operation comprised of members of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crimes Branch, United States Park Police, Prince George’s County Police, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, executed arrest and search warrants in Prince George’s County, Maryland to apprehend two additional suspects in a case that was closed with a previous arrest.  Arrested without incident were 41-year-old Vinetta Littlepage, who was apprehended at a residence located in the 2600 block of Keating Street in Camp Springs, Maryland, and 29-year-old Javon Jones, who was taken into custody at a residence located in the 2300 block of Afton Street in Oxon Hill, Maryland.  Jones was also wanted for Assault With Intent to Kill in connection with an unrelated criminal offense.

Littlepage and Jones were wanted on DC Superior Court arrest warrants charging them as Accessories to First Degree Murder in connection with the death of Michael Duane Carter, whose burned body was found on Friday, August 26, 2005 inside of an apartment located at 4618 Livingston Road, SE.  An autopsy performed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia determined that he had been shot to death.

Jones and Littlepage are currently in the custody of Prince George’s County, Maryland authorities pending extradition to the District of Columbia.
