On Saturday, April 28, 2007, at approximately 4:30 a.m., police were called to the area of 901 Wahler Place, SE, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, after officers canvassed the area, they located 19-year-old Aaron Teeter, of the 900 block of Wahler Place, SE, in the rear of 3830 9th Street, SE, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. DC Fire Department emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, but could find no signs consistent with life. He was transported to the DC Medical Examiner’s Office and pronounced dead at 9:05 am.
Shortly after 8 pm on Friday, June 8, 2007, members of the Violent Crimes Branch and the Seventh District executed an arrest warrant at a residence located in the 4000 block of Wheeler Road, SE. Taken into custody was 17-year-old Deandre Hobbs, who is being charged as an adult under Title 16 of the DC Code with Felony Murder while Armed in connection with this case. Also arrested a short time later in the vicinity of 15th Street and Butler Place, SE, was a second suspect wanted in this case, 19-year-old Curtis Fogg, of the 400 block of Brandywine Street, SE. Fogg has been charged with Conspiracy to Commit Murder and with Possession With the Intent to Distribute marijuana. Both Hobbs and Fogg are scheduled to be arraigned in DC Superior Court.
