Arrest Made in Connection with Death Investigation in the 2500 Block of Pomery Road, SE

At approximately 9 am, Friday, June 8, 2007, police were called to an apartment, located in the 2500 block of Pomeroy Road, SE, for the report of a stabbing.  Upon arrival they located 24-year-old Deion Laroy Ankrom, of the Pomeroy Road address, suffering from an apparent stab wound to the body that was allegedly inflicted during an argument, with a known subject. He was taken to the Howard University Hospital and pronounced dead at 6:47 pm.

A 15-year-old male juvenile was taken into custody and originally charged with Assault With a Dangerous Weapon.   His name must be withheld because he remains charged as a juvenile. The charge is subject to change pending a review of the case by the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia. 

Late Saturday, June 9, 2007, the 15-year-old male juvenile was formally charged with Second Degree Murder. His name must be withheld because he was charged as a juvenile.
