At
approximately 8:17 on the morning of Saturday, January 20, 2001, police
responded to the Unit block of Brandywine Street, SE to investigate the
report of a person slumped over the steering wheel of a motor vehicle.
Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds
inside of a maroon colored Ford Explorer.
The victim, who has been identified as 32-year-old Richard K. Shroeder,
of the 6700 block of Queens Road in Alexandria, Virginia, was later transported
to the D.C. Medical Examiner's Office where he was officially pronounced
dead.
The case is currently under investigation by detectives assigned to the
