The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating a missing 11-year-old boy who was last seen on Thursday, January 25, 2001.

The missing person is identified as Tavon C. Johnson of the 1100 block of Owen Place, N.E. Tavon was reported to have walked way from Taft Diagnostic Learning Center located at 18th and Perry Streets, N.E. at approximately 8:45 this morning. He is described as a black male, 4' 9" in height and weighing approximately 80 pounds. He is further described as having a medium complexion, brown eyes and black hair. Tavon was last observed wearing a gray/black colored jacket, blue jean pants and tan shoes.
