On Sunday, January 28, 2001, at approximately 12:30 a.m., a passerby located an injured woman lying in the 600 block of Eastern Avenue, NE. The citizen called DCFD emergency medical personnel to the scene. They discovered that the victim had been stabbed in the chest. The victim was transported to D.C. General Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 1:23 a.m. She has been identified as 35-year-old Desirae Micheon Thompson, of the 3500 block of Jay Street, NE.

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a TEN THOUSAND-DOLLAR REWARD to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
