Death Investigation in the 200 Block of Mississippi Avenue, SE

At approximately 11:00 this morning police responded to an apartment in the 200 block of Mississippi Avenue, SE, to check on the welfare of a resident.  Upon entering the apartment police located 66-year-old Charles Parker Adam, of the Mississippi Avenue address, in an unconscious condition.  DC Fire Department emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, but could find no signs consistent with life.  Mr. Charles was taken to the Office of the DC Medical Examiner and pronounced dead.

The cause and manner of death is pending an autopsy by the DC Medical Examiner.

The case is currently under investigation by members of the department’s Violent Crimes Branch.  Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.
