The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in attempting to locate a suspect wanted for bank robbery. An arrest warrant has been obtained charging 58-year-old Jerome Marshall Carter, of no fixed address, with bank robbery in connection with the case listed below. A photographic image of the suspect captured by a bank surveillance camera is included here.
On Monday, July 23, 2007, at approximately 1:49 p.m., a lone male suspect entered the SunTrust Bank located at 965 L’Enfant Plaza, SW. Once inside he indicated that he had a gun and demanded money. He made good his escape after receiving an undetermined amount of cash. There were no reported injuries.
The suspect in this case is described as a medium to dark complexioned black male, 50–55 years old, approximately 5’9” tall, weighing about 140–145 pounds, with bushy salt and pepper hair. He was wearing thick-framed glasses, a blue, short-sleeved Hawaiian-style shirt and blue jeans. The same suspect may also be responsible for the robbery of the Citibank located at 1749½ Columbia Road, NW, which was committed on Monday, July 16, 2007.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099. The department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any robbery committed in the District of Columbia.

58-year-old Jerome Marshall Carter, of no fixed address, who was being sought on an arrest warrant charging him with bank robbery in connection with the above listed case, was arrested at 7:30 pm on Sunday, July 29, 2007. He was arrested, without incident, while in the 700 block of Hamilton Street, NW.
