Body Found On Franklin Street, NE

At approximately 1:30 p.m. on Monday, February 19, 2001, officers of the Fifth District were waved down by a citizen in the 2100 block of Queens Chapel Road, NE for the report of a man down in a park located near Franklin Street, NE. Upon arrival, officers located an unconscious male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the head and body. DCFD medical personnel responded to the scene to render medical assistance and found no life signs.

The victim, who has not been identified at this time, was transported to the D.C. Medical Examiner's Office pending an autopsy.

The Metropolitan Police Department is presently offering a TEN THOUSAND-DOLLAR REWARD to anyone with information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
