Fatal Shooting On 57th Place, SE

At approximately 6:10 p.m. on Sunday, February 18, 2001, officers of the Sixth District responded to the 100 block of 57th Street, SE for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located 30-year-old Kennth McCants of no fixed address suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the face. DCFD medical personnel responded to the scene to render medical assistance.

The victim was transported to D.C. General where he was pronounced dead at 6:45 p.m.

The case is currently under investigation by detectives of the Sixth District . Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call detectives at 202-727-4515 or the D.C. Crime Solvers Unit at 1-800-673-2777 .

The Metropolitan Police is presently offering a TEN THOUSAND-DOLLAR REWARD to anyone with information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
