At approximately 7:40 am on Saturday, August 25, 2007, police were called to the second floor apartment of an apartment building, located in the 3400 block of 5^th Street, SE, for the report of a stabbing.  Upon arrival they located an unidentified adult black male who had been stabbed to the body during an altercation.   He was taken to the Howard University Hospital and pronounced dead.

Arrested in another apartment building in the 3400 block of 5^th Street, SE was 46-year-old Mercia Todd of the 5^th Street address.  She was charged with Murder Two While Armed.
