Triple Shooting On Barnaby Street, SE

At approximately 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2001, officers of the Seventh District responded to the 700 block of Barnaby Street, SE to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival officers discovered three (3) individuals in the hallway of 750 Barnaby Street, SE suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

One of the victims has been identified as 25-year-old Emmanuel Melver of the 1000 block of 17th Place, NE. Mr. Melver was transported to D.C. General Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:56 p.m. The second victim has been identified as 28-year-old Nennon Short of the 1600 block of C Street, NE. Mr. Short was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner where he was pronounced dead at 11:05 p.m.

The third victim sustained a non-life-threatening wound. Her name is being withheld at this time due to the fact that she is a witness in the case. She was treated at an area hospital.

The case is currently under investigation by detectives assigned to the Seventh District . Anyone who has information regarding this case is asked to call detectives at 202-698-1276 or the D.C. Crime Solvers Unit at 1-800-673-2777 .

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a TEN THOUSAND-DOLLAR REWARD to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
