At approximately 8:00 this morning, Friday, September 21, 2007, police were called to the 5100 block of Hanna Place, SE, for the report of an unconscious male. Upon arrival officers located 30-year-old Seneca Bennett, of the 4800 block of Benning Road, SE, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. DC Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene, and pronounced dead on the scene.

This case is under investigation by members of the department’s Violent Crimes Unit. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.

The department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
