Suspect Sought in Columbia Road Shooting

The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred on Tuesday, September 25, 2007, in front of 1747 Columbia Road, N.W.

At approximately 12:15 that morning, a 31-year-old female was allegedly approached by another female who shot her in the neck before making good her escape. The victim was taken to an area hospital and admitted in critical condition. Her name is being withheld due to the fact that she is a witness in this case.

A subsequent investigation conducted by members of the department’s Violent Crimes Branch has led to the issuance of an arrest warrant charging 34-year-old Raina Johnson with Assault With Intent To Kill While Armed in the above case. Johnson is described as a black female, 5’7” tall and weighing approximately 190 pounds. She is further described as having a dark complexion and two-toned hair worn in a braided style.  

Raina Johnson should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who may observe or   knows her whereabouts should take no direct action but call police at (202) 727-9099.
