Homicide in the 3100 Block of G Street, SE

At approximately 4:06 on the morning of Friday, September 28, 2007, D.C. Fire Department medical personnel responded to a private home, located in the 3100 block of G Street, S.E., for the report of an unconscious baby.  Upon arrival they located 17-month-old Darnell Jamal Wilson, of that address, suffering from apparent trauma to the head and body.  He was taken to the Children’s National Medical Center and pronounced dead at 6:26 am.

The Office of the DC Medical Examiner has ruled the cause of death due to blunt force trauma and the manner of death a homicide.

The case is under investigation by members of the department’s Violent Crimes Branch’s Special Victims Unit.  Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.

The department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
