At approximately 5:25 am, on Monday, October 1, 2007, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force and Montgomery County Police arrested, without incident, 35-year-old Robert Dobyns, of the 3600 block of Castle Terrace, in Silver Spring, Maryland. He was charged with Murder One While Armed in connection with the murder of 32-year-old Christopher Dobyns, of no fixed address, who was killed in late March 2007.

At approximately 7:30 am, on Thursday, March 29, 2007, police were called to the rear of 4750 Benning Road, SE. Upon arrival, officers located 32-year-old Christopher Dobyns on the grounds behind the Fletcher-Johnson Educational Center suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the head and body.
