At approximately 9:45 last night, Sunday, September 23, 2007, police were called to the 200 block of Florida Avenue, NE for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival officers located 19-year-old Bryce Hemsley, of the 500 block of Nicholson Street, NW, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the body. He was taken to the Washington Hospital Center MedStar’s Unit and pronounced dead.  

The case is under investigation by members of the department’s Violent Crimes Branch.

The department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
