Up to this point, vehicular traffic in downtown Washington remains light, however, motorists are reminded that they may expect delays due to unannounced motorcades. Citizens coming to downtown Washington are urged to use public transportation.

The department also wishes to advise boaters that from 11 am - 3 pm on Sunday, April 25, 1999, a security zone will be established in the Georgetown Channel from Roosevelt Bridge north to the junction of Rock Creek. Entry of vessels or persons into this zone will be prohibited. The zone will be established as part of the NATO summit. Notices regarding this matter have already been forwarded to area marinas and is being broadcast over VHF radio channels 16 and 17.
