On Thursday, October 17, 2007, members of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crimes Branch arrested Devone Foote, of the 1200 block of North Capitol Street, NW, in connection with the May shooting death of Harold Crawley. Foote, 25, was charged with first degree murder while armed.

On Friday, May 18, 2007, at approximately 4:40 pm, police responded to a report of a shooting in the 1300 block of First Street, SW. Upon arrival, police found 23-year-old Crawley, of the 1400 block of Half Street, SW, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the Washington Hospital Center’s MedStar Unit where he was pronounced dead.
