Arrest Made in Homicide on 24th Street, NE

The Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crimes Branch has arrested a suspect in connection with the Tuesday, October 23, 2007 murder of Delonte Kent.  The suspect, identified as 18-year-old Dangelo David Thomas, of the 800 block of 21st Street, NE, was arrested, without incident, at about 11:30 pm on Tuesday, while in the vicinity of 21st and G Streets, NE.  Thomas has been charged with First Degree Murder. 

 

At approximately 5:47 p.m., on Tuesday, police were called to the front of 662 - 24th Street, NE for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found 30-year-old Delonte Kent, of the 3800 block of W Street, SE, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the Washington Hospital Center’s MedStar Unit, where he was pronounced dead.
