Metropolitan Police are investigating a homicide that happened in the 1600 block of W Street, SE. On Sunday, October 28, 2007, at approximately 1:37 am, police were called to the 1600 block of W Street, SE, for the report of an unconscious person at that location. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
Emergency medical personnel from the D.C. Fire Department responded to the scene, but could not revive the victim. The victim who has been identified as 22-year-old Tyrone Everette of the 4000 block of Martin Luther King, Jr, Avenue, SW, was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and pronounced dead.
The case is under investigation by members of the department’s Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.
The department offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
