Homicide in the 1100 Block of 50th Place, NE

Metropolitan Police are investigating a homicide that happened early Saturday, October 27, 2007 in the 1100 block of 50th Place NE. At approximately 7:11 am officers responded to a report of an unconscious person in the rear of that location. 

Upon arrival, officers found an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was subsequently transported to the Office of The Chief Medical Examiner and pronounced dead. The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Leonel Urbina-Lopez of the 5100 block of Lee Street, NE  

The case is under investigation by members from the department’s Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.

The department offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
