(Washington, DC) – The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating two missing persons identified as 14-year-old Tia Smith and 9-month-old Takayla Smith. They were last seen on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 on their way to school.

Tia Smith is described as a medium complexioned black female, 5’1” in height, weighing 150 pounds with brown eyes. She was last seen wearing blue jeans with a white jacket.

Takayla Smith is described as a black female. At this time, it is unclear what she was last wearing. 

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Tia Smith and Takayla Smith is asked to call police at 202-727-9099.

Update, October 31, 2007
On Wednesday, October 31, 2007, at around 2:50 pm, missing persons 14-year-old Tia Smith and 9-month-old Takayla Smith were located at a friend’s home.  They are unharmed and have been reunited with their family.
