At approximately 11 am on Sunday, November 4, 2007, Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) 7th District officers and Detectives arrested 18-year-old Johnathan Edmonds in connection with a kidnapping and rape of a Prince George’s County woman.
On November 2, 2007, the victim was abducted by two armed black males after getting out of her car at 13th Place and Savannah Street, S.E. Edmonds, and another suspect who has not yet been identified, were allegedly armed with handguns and forced the woman into her vehicle, forcing her to drive to her home Prince George’s County. While in route, the victim was sexually assaulted by one of the suspects and then repeatedly assaulted by both men in her home.
Edmonds and the second suspect, described as a black male between 20 to 23 years old, 5’7" slim build, 150 pounds dark completion wearing blue jeans a black Northface jacket (in picture at right), then forced her to withdraw money from an ATM and released her on Southern Avenue, S.E. Edmonds, of no fixed address, was arrested at 13th and Congress Avenue this morning without incident. He is charged with car jacking while armed. Members of the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit have also issued a warrant for Edmonds, charging him with First Degree Rape and False Imprisonment.
Both MPD and the Prince George’s County Police Department are working together and have launched a full scale search for the second suspect who is considered armed and dangerous.
