Homicide in 1300 block of Barnaby Terrace SE

Hong Zhi WangAt approximately 10:28 p.m., on Sunday, November 11, 2007, police were called to the 1300 block of Barnaby Terrace, S.E. for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found 29-year-old Hong Zhi Wang, of the 7900 block of Ellet Road, in Springfield, Virginia, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the neck. He was taken to the Washington Hospital Center’s MedStar Unit where he was admitted in critical condition. On Monday, November 12, 2007, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound to the area of the neck and the manner of death ruled a homicide.

 

Wang was a delivery person at China Cafe' on Southern Avenue in Prince George's County. The case is under investigation by members of the department’s Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.

 

The department offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
